The calavera, or sugar skull, is a traditional Mexican symbol used to celebrate The Day of the Dead, or Día de los Meurtos. Made from sweet cane sugar and decorated with brightly coloured beads, foil and icing, the calavera is an important part of Mexican culture, allowing people to celebrate and reconnect with those that they have lost.

I got this one for its hand presence and it strongly delivers on that front, but I did feel let down in one area. The band is just a bit too thinned out along the sides, going around the back. This amplified the design's already inherent lack of balance even more.
I may just be spoiled by also owning the Hyo ring, which itself has good presence, but is also very much substantial all the way round. This is the one thing keeping me from giving it full marks.

I’m a huge fan of skull rings and my wife is cool with me wearing them as my engagement/wedding ring. I originally ordered the Killswitch Engage ring, which is pretty awesome in its own right, but had to return it because the size 10 was a little too big, causing the ring to rotate on my finger. Given the size 9 was out of stock, I checked out the website for other options and luckily stumbled upon this beautiful monster. I love it because it’s huge, heavy, and ornately carved/decorated all the way around. To include the sides and bottom of the actual ring. I’ve been wearing it less than a week and have received several unprompted compliments from friends and coworkers. I work in a corporate business-style environment, and dress accordingly, and this piece really stands out in a positive, unique, special way. This is my new favorite every day skull ring, and I don’t see that changing any time soon.
