NEW THIS WEEK: THE TrinityTHE Trinity
Though originally a Celtic symbol, the Triquetra or the Trinity Knot spread to the Vikings via increased contact between the Norse people and the Irish — this merging of cultures is represented by Viking longboats on each side of the ring. A design very similar to the Trinity Knot was found on the Funbo Runestone found in Uppland, Sweden, and is comprised of one continuous line interweaving around itself, meaning no beginning or end, or eternal spiritual life.
